The domain is located in the region of Gascony , in the South West of France, the birthplace of D'Artagnan, one of the three Musketeers. We have been produc-ing and selling wine for more than a cen-tury and Misters Esquiro Paul and Jean obtained the Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne guaranteed vintage in 1973. David Esquiro took his uncles position in 1997.

The domain stretches across 75 acres of country land producing around 400 000 bottles of wine per year. With its ocean climate tempered by the forests of the Landes to the west and the Pyrenees to the south are just the right conditions to get the best results from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot , Tannat , Malbec , Gamay and Colombard grapes. When fully mature these Côtes de Gas-cogne wines develop their own particular identity - a rich aromatic palate , complex and seductive. The great wealth of our land can be attributed to this typical Gas-cony soil , a clay soil that lies on lime-stone rock and the Boulbénes (a mix of clay and silt).

To protect our wines from transport and oxidation damage , we blend and package them ourselves in our domain allowing them to mature in oak barrels. All year long we open our doors to tour-ists and visitors alike to enjoy the experi-ence of Domaine de la Higuere. During the Summer our products can also be found in "La Maison de Gascogne" in Auch.
